Drive from Melbourne to Milawa

From Melbourne Airport, straight into the hire car and head north, first place we stop for lunch was Plunkett wines at Avenel, which also happens to be where a young Ned Kelly used to live Lunch was awesome, and we check out the town before we take a Sonny detour track to Milawa, and so much blossom is out at the moment, spring is in the air indeed
typical scenery at Avenel You can tell this place gets cold by the fact that this house has 2 fireplaces, one for the kitchen, with a massive orange tree in the backyard, and one for the dining/lounge room these are everywhere at the moment click on image to read a little Australian history
on the road to Ruffy ( a little bit of the beaten track, but I did not want to go straight on the highway for 90min ) I like this picture The stone/rock formations in this landscape are just incredible. Some bird shooting some bird 🙂 No, Jac's ( of course ) shooting the dead tree against the sky great location, no ? be great to do a shoot here, but as is always the case, it costs money to come here, and from a magazine point of ( budget ) view, a studio in Alexandria for 800 bucks is a lot cheaper than paying for a crew of 5-7 people to go bush for 2-3 days then again, look at this location, fantastic
an hour or so later, we arrive at our destination. Just in time to see this awesome cloud build up on sunset. We are staying at a hotel called Lindenwarrah at Milawa, Jacqui wrote an article about our trip to Lake Bumbunga last year, and she won first prize in this readers story competition for Australian Traveller magazine, and prize was 2 nights accommodation at this hotel, and I'm glad she did, as I don't think we would have ever ventured out here otherwise, and it is a great "gourmet " region, lots of wineries, cheese, olives etc… awesome skies, but I hope they clear, as we will be going to Mt Buller after here Imagine this printed large on your wall
