We pass so many wineries, so it is a bit annoying when thye have the open sign out, door is open, we enter but no one is around. Shame, did see little red riding hood though Could not pass this one up though Grapevine and Eucalyptus trees Dalzotto to check out the King Valley Proseco ( in dept report on Jacqui's blog real soon ) Ott's tresured Shiraz Next Pizzini ( note blossom behind barrel ) This is a real growing branch, and I am blown away by the colour of it ! Pizzini, really need to come back to all these places in Spring or late summer Leaving the valley now to head to Mansfield and from there up to Mt.Buller. We pass a famous look out, so we take the turn off and 6 km gravel road to get to this amazing look out .. .. .. except we are in a cloud today Powers look out, normally you would see a few snow covered mountains, like Hotham etc…
Bill Powers used to hide out up here After Mansfield, lunch on the run, cheeses from Milawa
yummy at the base of Buller mountain all very green and raining outside ( we want it to be white and snowing outside ) After a short drive up the mountain, and then all this kerfuffle with having to unload your bags on the roof of a 4WD, and crammed in the back like a pack of cows of the 4WD ( oh and yeah, you pay a small fortune for this privilge, have not seen Go Back To Where You Came From, but feeling a small moment of this ) We arrive at our lodge for the night, and yes, the mountain is covered in snow, although a thin cover, all that warm weather last week melted a lot of the snow looks pretty, hope we get some blue sky while here our luxury room with a view room with a view
where I will be warming up next to the fire and updating this blog looking out at the snow.
Last day in the “low” country as we head to Buller
