Last day in Berln

And the snow is still here

Cold, but there is still something nice about it. Have to pack up and get out of the apartment I rented. Meet up with Clark and Adriano from Qvest before heading to the airport

I love the preservation of all these old buildings in the former East ( bloody capitalist developers tearing down history and putting up sardine apartments), look at this beautiful staircase at the offices of Qvest

can't tell in this photo, but the top floor with the skylight was decked out with potplants

Still warming with coal/coke
had half an hour before I need to go to the airport, so I go for a little wander

but I do like the look of this shop , and plan to visit it next time I come to Berlin.
After this I went to the airport, and there is so much snow in Paris that the flight to Paris is delayed by more than an hour ( and I'm supposed to be at Martine & Sydney's for dinner by 7 ) In Paris I ended catching the RER to Paris as opposed to taxi from the airport, figured traffic would be too slow, and then taxi form gare du nord, and you straight away notice a big difference between the taxi drivers form Paris and Berlin, they are really friendly, courteous and helpful in Berlin. Paris taxi drivers are the worst, they will not pick you up just of the street , you have to go stand at on eof the taxi ranks ( like you know where they are )and then give you all this attitude, charge you extra for every piece of luggage. I really hate taxi driver si Paris , aboslute scum.
Anyway, after that long( short) journey, finally made it theThiam's where Lillian and Roger were on visit as well, so that was nice to see them as well, and they had left me some food over, yummy yummy winter soup and then a fish dish with fresh steamed vegies, was so nice to have a yummy healthy home cooked meal, thanks guys.
So then I left Paris at about 11pm, and got home about 3-4 hours later, and check the temperature in the room
I turned on the heater and went to bed fully clothed
