After Laurence’s presentation , we have about an hour before the show starts, so Diane drops into her hotel quickly to check a few emails. We stop of on the way at Frituur 1 for a pakske friet me mayoniase, as it is just around the corner form the hotel, and they do make the best chips in Antwerp
While Diane finishes up in her room, I wait downstairs in the lobby, from here it was a 5 min walk to the Zuidterras restaurant where all the jury is gathered for a quickmeal before the shows start. This year there were a lot more graduating students, so everything was running a bit behind schedule and we had to eat quickly as the show would soon start. And by the time we finished our meal ( no time for dessert ) we arrived at the show and the history section was already finished
I took about a 1000 photos, but I only post just a few here , things I like, or the light
Or Kris’s shoes sitting in the front row
Kris Van Assche creative director for Dior Homme was part of the jury, and naturally he was interested more so on the mens collections ( I say this with confidence, as everytime a mens collection came out, his body language changed and seemed to take more notice )
One of the more Kawaii outfits ( 3rd year )
During the pause, they have a pause between the 1st2nd3rd year and 4th year, as it is long show ( started at about 8pm finishes about 30 min past midnight ) And in the pause they have ethnic outfits, this one was my favourite
Yuima Nakazato’s amazing piece
When this little girl walked out for Ann Eckers collection, the crowd just went wild
Joeri Van Yper’s Frozen overexposed stars as seen on Sieska here, those circular shapes on the dress are actually bits of wood
Posting this shot as it reminds me of the movie Close encounters of the third kind ( 1977 spielberg classic )
Andrea Cammarosano
Phew, that was a long time sitting down on a chair and watching models dressed in students clothes, not that it was bad, there was just so much of it.
Now of to Bruno’s for his birthday party
