Doing a shoot for an Australian magazine today in Paris, it’s a " day in the life of " series, and today it is Australian designer Collette Dinnigan, she did a show on Sunday, and today I spend the day with her. I first met her, gawd, about 13 years ago , maybe even more, in Sydney, when Horacio Silva got me to do a portrait shot of her in her studio, this was when Horacio was the editor of Studio magazine, since then I’ve seen Collette a few times, always during her fashion shows, and I always felt like she pretended she didn’t remember me, and that she was cold towards me, but now that I spent the day with her, I put that down to her just being a business woman, and one of those people that don’t urm and r, as she knows what she wants, it is already in her head, she has a plan, and sometimes that comes across as being stand offish, cold even. So today I saw another side of Collette, and turns out she’s not cold at all ( well , as long as you don’t get on the wrong side of her, but then again, isn’t that with all people ) Now I’m not just saying that because she bought me lunch ( I was actually prepared to pay for her lunch-I had the budget from the magazine ) But I like her now, that’s right, didn’t really before- but then , as the saying goes " that’s because you haven’t spend anytime with her/him, once you do , you will see that they he/she is actually a nice person- so it’s true, sometimes you need to spend some quality time with a person to really get to know them, as I had a different impression of her from my short times spent with her, aniiiiiway, I’m carrying on again, back to lunch, yum, brasserie Lipp, traditional french place in St Germain, we weren’t allowed to take pictures inside " c’est interdit " I was told, but hey, as the song goes " there’s no stopping us " this first one ( above) was just a light check, we swapped position

We wanted to sit downstairs, but lunch service was finished, so we pretty much had the upstairs place to ourselves, I love all the tiling on the walls in between the mirrors
