The hotel I stayed at last night overlooks LAX runways, and as I was packing car ready to leave, I thought it was rather unusual to see a plane fly so low over the runway out to sea
FJ810 here’s a screen recording of the last 20 min or so of it’s flight path.
Anyway, so I was watching to see the plane come in again for its second try to land, and then got my 400mm out
spotted this flying roo at the far end of the runway, and noticed on the flight tracking app that my flight tonight will have a 2 hour delay and that yesterdays flight was cancelled ( so will be a full flight tonight no doubt ) but that plane there is not an A380, and QF11 is scheduled to land in about 25min, so, why not, lets hang and wait for big bertha to come in and land meanwhile, have a great vantage point to document some of the coming and goings, busy airport united flight au natural one coming one going looks closely at the windows, now anyone that flies Qantas and BA a lot know the crew always want all window shades up during take off and landing, and are very strict about it. In America, on American Airlines and Alaskan Airlines, they are not, and most often, when boarding the flight, the shades are all down, I just don’t get it, why would a passenger insist on a window seat and have the shades down, just missing out on some amazing views, and take off !!?? ok, rant over 🙂traffic control wheels up quick on this one this 747 just landed, rather mysterious with no signage like nothing except for this registration number so of course I looked it up, belongs to an air freight company , still very sus in my book oh, and there’s Elon Musk in his new plane he just aquired a few months ago just like my arrival yesterday, that sea fog is moving in again love seeing this, the condensation, mist fog, displacement, whatever you call it, on the wings and engine not the best one then this thing at the catering wharehouse started blasting, took me by suprise one of the remaining passenger airlines still flying the 747, Lufthansa coming in yep, that fog is back for the afternoon and here she comes, LAX is using both runways for landing so lucky for me big bertha is landing on the runway closer to me she’s a big one looking goodfinal approach touch down so in about 11 hours it will be my turn looks good from here first on the bottom and business on top ( Emirates A380 it is the reverse ) taxi oh, and here is the Lufthansa 747, so you can compare, I so prefer the 747, especially at the bottom in the pointy end, seat 1A, best views, as it is ever so slightly a little more forward view. I really wish Qantas didn’t get rid of them and BA, Queen of the skies the 747busy airport 6 different airlines in the one photo.
Ok, enough of that, time to catch up with some friends before checking in for my flight tonight
