As I drove through Bilgola after Newport, I spotted a whale out in the ocean, so I pulled over to try and get a good shot. Just missed this one as I was still changing the camera settinsbut got the splash down 🙂 and a wave looks like a pod of three going down incredible sight so that little fin on its back indicates to me that it is a humpback whale as opposed to Southern Right Whale hello going down there are about 3 pods swimming past, so really got to have your eyes peeled, and then in the corner of your eye, you spot another breach, too late this is the time of the year you see the migration south again after heading north to the warmer water for breeding nice to see so many pods and activity view of Newport beach from Bilgola Headland yes, they did the right thing and steered clear of the pods
p.s. next day, a whale and it’s calf where spotted inside Pittwater, as far down as the Newport yacht club, did a loop around Scotland Island and headed out in the ocean again
Humpback Whales
Driving back from airport I'm greeted by this wonderful sight
