Shooting all these guys with the music T-shirts I just had to pay DefWish from Def Wish Cast a little visit in Bondi and ask him about his band T-shirts.
DefWish, do you remember your first band T-shirt?
– Sure do, it was a RUN-DMC one.
You still have it?
– Dude, that was in the 80’s, hehe! But hang on, I still have my LL Cool J singlet. I got it when the album came out. Disco City on Pitt Street, Sydney, (only store at the time selling hip-hop) sold the new album with a singlet. But the only singlet they had was way too large for me, so I never got to wear it back then. Fits me now, though!
What’s the latest live act you saw
– The Cold Crush Brothers re-union show, saw them in the East Village in New York, a small venue and it was a lot of die hard hip-hop fans there as the Cold Crush Brothers were one of the the first Hip Hop acts ever (the band formed in 1979).
What’s the latest D.J. you saw?
– Last DJ I saw was Biz Markie at The Brooklyn Bowl. I love my old school!
What’s your favourite Australian album?
– Lately been listening to a lot of Delta and Dialectrix.
Favourite song?
– Oh man, I have so many. No way I am going to give you just one haha! LL Cool J’s Can’t Live without my radio and Biz Markie’s Biz Is Goin’ Off and Run-DMC’s Peter Piper.
What makes a good band T-shirt?
– A well designed band logo.
How important is live music to you ?
– It’s mad important. I’m always trying to create an atmosphere and bring the audience into my world when I go on.
