The local authorities were so worried about these waves ( remember, they never seen these before ) that they told all the hotels to evacuate all their guests. After a lot of gentle persuasion, I convinced them to let me stay at the hotel, as I’m a photographer covering the "story" of the cyclone. So I had this 5 star hotel all to myself, and they even gave me one nights stay for free, was very surreal, as the staff were still all there to greet me at breakfast and dinner, and at reception etc…
