Another big drive today, heading the National park about 100km as the crow flies, east from Rome and I spotted it whilst looking at google maps as a great place to stop and take some photos, here Ofena

here we go, entering the national park and part of the Monte Camicia range

Om google maps, it actually has this "movie poster" marked ( who doesn't remember those Terence Hill and Bud Spencer Spaghetti westerns :-)

 

But I was drawn to the big dry river bed that was clearly visible as it is pretty wide

 

so we head out to check it out

So yes, this spot became popular with Italians as it is was the location for one of the classic movies in that genre

and yes, this is snow territory in winter
