We were told that there had been a recent snowfall and was why there was still a chill in the air, so on our way to Tongariro, I wondered if we would see snow and there, in the distance, you can see the volcano mountain top covered in snow zoom in a bit and then just before the turn into the national park and I forgot my skis  after checking in, view from our room, Mt Ngauruhoe, time for a time lapse while time lapse is going in the room, I check out the other side and hotel is at the base of the mountain's ski fields I seriously had no idea there would be the opportunity to ski As I still can't upload videos to this post, I uploaded the time lapse video to youtube So click here to see the short time lapse video of the sun setting on Mt Ngauruhoe
