The King of Ferns

On the side of the road on our way back to the car ferry to cross the Daintree river, I saw this massive Fern Tree growing, and I mean massive, turns out it is called the King of Ferns click to watch a 2 min video explaining the history of the ferns and how it's stem structure used to be the way all plants were some 500 million years ago
so this is a new leaf coming out
to give you an idea of size
would love one of these in the garden, but turns out they are not very common and only grow up these parts
