Got an email from David that he was having an exhibition of paintings up at Lucy in Antwerp , David...? Paintings..? I thought that was odd, because to me, when you say David , I think installations, big spaces etc..., like the last one I saw in Ghent last September. But yeah, as you can see David standing in front of one of his paintings, he felt like a change, but added to that also was that when he does his installations, it is always just him that does it, so he needs to rely on a lot of friends to help him move things etc...so it was a refreshing change to paint, but then he did tell me he always was a painter to begin with

He was inspired by the formula one race drivers, I think it was the intensity in the eyes, the focus that draw him to paint, and to contrast that even more, he kept their helmets in mono tone and just colour on the face. Hanging up at Lucy's for the next 4 weeks
